This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic work programmes for the sections at the direction of the Maritime Coordinator, the General Secretary and Sections’ governing bodies. A key part of the role will be to establish methodologies and processes for recruitment, training and development of the sections team as well as leading the sections and allocating resources.

You will lead project planning in conjunction with affiliates and lead the development and implementation of sections work plans that reflects global strategic directions and priorities.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of effective leadership at a senior management level, including developing and leading on the successful implementation of key organisational strategies within a national trade union or in a social movements context. Furthermore, you will have demonstrable high-level understanding of global political and environmental issues that impact on fishers. Excellent communication skills including fluency in English and strong presenting, advocacy, debating and report writing skills are a must. Due to the nature of the organisation and the role, knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.
